Field Trip: Local Students see Renewable Resources in Action at Rosalie Bay

Rosalie Bay Resort recently hosted the third grade class of Pioneer Prep School. The 7- to 9-year-olds have been studying renewable and nonrenewable resources at school. To enhance learning and connect their classroom study to the field, the students took a trip from Roseau to our eco-resort.

Wind Turbine at Rosalie Bay Resort on Dominica

The students were most excited to learn about our 225 kW wind turbine, which together with more than 300 solar panels, generates our energy. Our Renewable Energy Engineer gave the students a tour of the resort presenting our solar panels and wind turbine, educating them on our environmental efforts, and explaining the importance of conserving energy and natural resources.

Afterward, the students explored the accommodations of Rosalie Bay with a tour of a Riverside Suite.

We were delighted to share our resort with these young members of the community and the children had a blast at what they called, the “best resort ever.” They hope to visit again saying, “I want to live here,” “I want the school to be here” and “I don’t like it, I love it.” We look forward to welcoming them back!
