Every Day is Earth Day at Rosalie Bay Resort

Earth Day is this weekend, April 22. At Rosalie Bay Resort, we are fortunate to be surrounded by an abundance of the Earth’s natural beauty.

For us, Earth Day is every day. Our commitment to protecting the environment, sharing it with visitors and empowering the local community began on day one and continues to be a driving force.

Some of the efforts at our eco-resort are visible, such as the towering wind turbine and solar panels, and some happen behind-the-scenes such as our UV filtration system and solar heated water.

To demonstrate our commitment to the travel community, we are in the process of becoming Green Globe certified. Green Globe is the global certification program for sustainable tourism. Certified organizations meet several criteria including energy and water conservation, reducing operational costs, positively contributing to local communities and the environment, and meeting the high expectations of green travelers.

Green Globe InspectionThis week, Wendy Walker from Green Globe visited Rosalie Bay Resort for our site inspection. Our environmental coordinator Marisa Sabaroche showcased our environmental efforts to Wendy.

The inspection was positive and we hope to receive the official Green Globe Certification within the next few months.

As we celebrate Earth Day this weekend, we hope you are inspired to join us and millions of others throughout the world to take steps to protect our planet.
