New Air Service to Dominica

Seaborne Airlines

Good news for those traveling to Dominica to visit us at Rosalie Bay Resort!

St. Croix-based Seaborne Airlines will launch service from San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU), to Melville Hall Airport on Dominica (DOM) (as well as our neighboring islands of Martinique and Guadeloupe) this spring. The service will begin April 2013.

The routes will be flown by a 34-seat Saab turboprop with in-flight service. Thanks to an inter-airline agreement, travelers flying on American Airlines into San Juan and connecting on Seaborne Airlines will have their baggage transfer between the two airlines on the ramp in San Juan, instead of being re-checked at the airport.

Seaborne Airlines also has plans to have its flights displayed and sold on American Airlines’ website as part of the new arrangement.

The Seaborne Airlines’ flight will replace the current American Eagle flight from San Juan, which will cease in March 2013. American Airlines announced plans last year to close their hub in San Juan, Puerto Rico, impacting air service to several Caribbean destinations including Dominica.

Seaborne Airlines has been operating in the Caribbean for more than 19 years, carrying nearly 2.5 million passengers.
