2013 has been an exciting sea turtle season – and we still have several months to go! So far we have documented 52 nests at Rosalie Bay and our hatchery is full. Only nests that are too close to the shore are relocated to the hatchery, which is further in shore, so that the eggs do not get washed away.
The hatchery, and all of our conservation efforts, are under the direction of turtle expert Simon George. A highlight for many of our guests is meeting Simon and participating in his sea turtle education walks on the beach.
