Wellness Wednesday: Make Exercise Fun

Weekly tips to bring island-inspired wellness into your everyday life from Rosalie Bay Resort wellness coordinator Laura Lund.

We all know exercise is good for us, but if you’ve fallen off the exercise wagon perhaps the following may help.

Regular exercise improves your sleep, mood, sex drive, and helps control weight and stress. If that’s not reason enough, it also improves your HDL (heart healthy cholesterol) decreasing your risk of heart attack and stroke.

At our wellness resort, we believe exercise should be fun. Rather than running on a treadmill, we climb mountains, hike to waterfalls and get out to enjoy nature.

Having a person to encourage you can also help. A trainer can jumpstart your program or a workout friend can make you more accountable.

Just remember to start slow and increase as your strength improves. Your goal should be 30 minutes, 5 days a week.
