Wellness Wednesday: Sulfur and Seaweed Wrap

Weekly tips to bring island-inspired wellness into your everyday life from the wellness and spa team at Rosalie Bay Resort, Dominica. Post written by Spa and Wellness Coordinator Laura Lund.

There are many spa treatments available to enhance your wellbeing. One of our favorites at the spa at Rosalie Bay is the Sulfur and Seaweed Wrap. The anti-inflammatory sulfur and seaweed are rich in vitamins, minerals, fatty acids and anti-oxidants.

The treatment helps to calm the nervous system while appealing to the senses and improving lymphatic flow. It also provides a mild detoxifying effect on the muscles, aiding in relief from aching joints, and is great for combating cellulite as it draws out impurities through the skin.

The Sulfur and Seaweed Wrap begins with local volcanic sulfur mud from dense lava rocks rich in minerals. The mud is infused with freshly powdered seaweed and then massaged into your body. While you are wrapped in a thermal blanket, hot stones are placed on your abdomen to heat your core followed by a pressure points massage on your head and feet.

Nourish and rejuvenate your skin and body with this treatment and follow with a full body massage for the ultimate in relaxation.
