Dive Fest 2014 was fun to celebrate and we have wonderful memories from the annual event on Dominica and Family Fun Day at Rosalie Bay Resort. Here are a few of our favorites.
Poolside BBQ
Family and friends gathered poolside and enjoyed grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, kabobs and more. Participants challenged one another to board games at Oscar’s Pool Bar and croquet on the lawn. Even our owner, Bev, had a good time with a spirited-match of Connect 4.
Turtle Education
NET Rosalie hosted an education session about turtle conservation. During the talk, a few baby turtles surprised participants by emerging from their nest and crawling out to sea.
Sand Turtle Building
Younger guests gathered on our beach to participate in a fun twist on the typical sand castle building competition. Using our black sand and what they could find in their surroundings, eight teams constructed their best sand turtle. The winners won a Whale Watching Tour sponsored by Dive Fest.
Nest Excavation
NET Rosalie saved baby leatherback sea turtles by excavating a nest on our black sand beach. Participants were able to hold the tiny turtles before releasing them to the ocean.
Family Fun Day Raffle
After a random draw, we announced the winners of our raffle. Congratulations Jackie, Whitney and Edmund for winning prizes to Rosalie Bay.
- Jackie Honn from Portsmouth won a free night for 2 including breakfast
- Whitney Sommers from Picard won a spa treatment of her choice
- Edmund Robinson from Roseau won a complimentary Creole lunch for 2
